Yemen was once controlled by the British

Yemen was just one of the countries that was invaded by the British. The british controlled yemen from 1839 to 1967 . South yemen which is now known as aden was the part the british controlled. The british said they controlled aden because it was a so called important base for the royal navy. It was really important because it was the opening of the suez canal where aden became the important route to india.The "British left when they were forced out by the support from the Soviet Union".
